Expensed supports keyboard shortcuts to help you work faster.

Viewing Shortcuts

Press Shift + ? anywhere in the app to open the shortcuts help dialog.

General

Tips

When Shortcuts Work

Keyboard shortcuts are active when:

• You're not typing in a text field
• No input, textarea, or dropdown is focused
• A dialog isn't capturing keyboard input

When Shortcuts Don't Work

Shortcuts are disabled when:

• Typing in search boxes
• Filling out forms
• Editing expense notes
• Inside text editors

Escape Always Works

The Esc key works even when you're in a text field - use it to quickly close dialogs.

Mobile Devices

Keyboard shortcuts are designed for desktop use. On mobile devices:

• Use touch gestures instead
• Pull down to refresh on dashboards
• Swipe to navigate where supported
• Tap the X or outside a dialog to close

Accessibility

For users who prefer keyboard navigation:

• Tab moves between form fields
• Enter submits forms or confirms dialogs
• Space toggles checkboxes
• Arrow keys navigate dropdowns and menus

Future Shortcuts

Additional keyboard shortcuts for common actions (like creating expenses or navigating between sections) are planned for future releases.
